Hilton Garden Inn FCO Review

If you want a place close to Fuimincino Aiport near Rome, Italy, this is a great choice. I debated between the Hilton Airport which is connected to the airport and the Hilton Garden Inn which has a free shuttle to the airport. The price difference was about $70 so I opted for the cheaper one!

The Hilton Garden Inn has a shuttle to the airport every 15 minutes. It’s only a 10 minute drive. Considering I was already near the airport, I knew I would be fine making my early morning flight back to the USA.

The hotel itself was mobbed. My immediate thought was this place is busier than Rome! I got there about 8pm and it was just a madhouse. Take a look at the lobby and bar.

Check in went smoothly. I had prepaid for my room on Hotels.com. I tried to wait a few hours to see if this hotel went down in price and that was a big mistake. It went up in price. So don’t wait until the last minute for this hotel.

My room was typical size. Had a bed, desk, closet and small sofa. The room had hard wood floors which I loved. The bed was a bit firm but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was decent sized and the shower pressure was great. Good hot water too.

After I got settled, I went to the bar for food. It was so overwhelmingly packed. I waited half hour for a drink and could never get food. The poor bartender and every other staff member was completely slammed. The bartender said it’s usually like that. Which is unfortunate. There’s no where else to go though.

The next morning I got ready and headed down to catch shuttle. The shuttle leaves every 15 minutes on the hour and seemed to run on a timely schedule.

Overall I thought this was a good clean hotel option near the FCO airport. My price was $230 for one night.
